2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that websites send to the user’s device, where they are stored and then sent back to the same sites on the user’s next visit. Alongside cookies there are technologies with a similar function — such as pixels, web beacons, browser local storage and third-party scripts — which allow information about the device or browsing activity to be collected. In this notice the term “cookies” is used to cover all such tools.

Cookies may be first-party, when installed directly by the website visited, or third-party, when installed by parties other than the website operator.

By purpose, they are distinguished as:

  • technical cookies, necessary for the operation of the website or for the provision of a service explicitly requested by the user. These do not require consent;
  • preference cookies, which store the user’s choices in order to improve the browsing experience;
  • analytics cookies, which collect aggregate information on the use of the website;
  • profiling and marketing cookies, which build a profile of the user in order to deliver advertising aligned with their preferences.

With the exception of technical cookies, installation requires the user’s prior and freely given consent.

3. Cookies used by this website

3.1 Strictly necessary technical cookies

These are installed automatically, are necessary for the operation of the website and do not require the user’s consent.

The website also uses the browser’s local storage for technical settings relating to page layout, without personal data.

3.2 Other cookies and third-party services

The website does not use preference, analytics, profiling or marketing cookies, nor third-party services that install cookies, such as embedded maps or videos.

3.3 Typefaces

The fonts used by the website are hosted directly on the Controller’s servers and served together with the pages. They involve no connection to external servers and no transmission of data to third parties.

4. Managing preferences

As the website uses only technical cookies, for which the user’s consent is not required, no consent banner is displayed.

Should cookies or tools requiring consent be introduced in the future, a banner will be presented on first access allowing users to accept, reject or select them individually, and this notice will be updated accordingly.

5. Managing cookies through the browser

Regardless of the choices expressed on the website, users may configure their browser to block or delete cookies. Disabling technical cookies may however compromise the operation of certain parts of the website.
